LONDON - "Law will have an important role to solve problems in the world in the future as it was in the past," Turkish Labor & Social Security Minister Murat Basesgioglu said prior to the award ceremony of Turkish-British Lawyers Association in London.
The ceremony to select the "lawyers of the year" was held at House of Lords.
Basesgioglu said that holding the ceremony at House of Lords is an important gesture to bring democracy and law together.
Recalling the responsibilities of lawyers Basesgioglu said that law will have an important influence in the future to spread prosperity and to develop human rights.
During the ceremony, Can Yeginsu was chosen as the most successful law student of the year, Nezire Turkan as the most successful law graduate of the year, Selmin Hakki as the intern lawyer of the year and Timur Rustem as the lawyer of the year.
Istanbul Bar Chairman Kazim Kolcuoglu was also presented the honorary award of Turkish- British Lawyers Association.
