Rescue Teams Continue Searching For Survivors Of Sunken Boat Off Kos Island

BODIES OF THREE MEN RECOVERED FROM SEA

IZMIR - Bodies of three men were recovered from sea off Kos island of Greece on Monday after yesterday's boat accident.
Turkish Consulate in Rhodes officials told the A.A correspondent that a passenger ship found the bodies. The bodies were taken to Kos Port.
Following the recovery, Greek coast guard officials have concentrated their efforts around Kos island.
Meanwhile, Turkish coast guard officials found life buoys and wood pieces.
Search and rescue efforts have been continuing in the area with a helicopter and two boats.
Yesterday, a 14-meter wooden boat, carrying people from Jordan, Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan to Greek island of Rhodes illegally, sunk off Kadirgaburnu in Marmaris town of western province of Mugla. The lone survivor of Iranian origin told security forces that there were approximately 70 people on board.
Immediately after the sinking, Turkish and Greek coast guard officials have launched a joint search and rescue operation.
The cause of the sinking was not immediately known and even the location of the wreck was unclear.
