ANKARA-ISTANBUL - Treasury Undersecretariat, State Planning Organization (SPO) and Administration of Promoting Small and Medium Scale Industry (KOSGEB) will make cooperation to strengthen small and medium scale enterprises (SMSEs).
The strategy and targets to be followed to support SMSEs will be determined on basis of provinces. Priorities will be determined and measures to be taken for those priorities will be put forth.
The strong and poor sides of SMSEs will be assessed after conferences to be held in some provinces.
Joint follow-up and evaluation committees and local and central committees will be established within the scope of the project.
Central committee will be established under the leadership of SPO and with the participation of Treasury, KOSGEB and other institutions related with SMSEs. Every participant institution will meet its own budget regarding cooperation field, related issues and project activities. They will benefit from opportunities of KOSGEB in other situations.
The cooperation protocol will be signed next week with the participation of officials from Treasury, SPO and KOSGEB.
Meanwhile, the Second SMSE Summit ended in Istanbul and a final declaration was unveiled.
According to the declaration, tax burden on employment should be decreased by making necessary changes in tax laws and the necessary confidence milieu should be provided in Turkey to draw foreign investment and the regulations on merger of companies should be made more simple.
The declaration also stated that encouraging legal arrangements should be made especially for entrepreneurship by removing the obstacles that stood in front of national capital. It said that KOSGEB should be made an active and autonomous institution and SMSE exchanges should be formed.
