BAGHDAD, Feb 10, 2007 (AFP) - Three US soldiers were killed in an explosion in Iraq while they were searching a building northeast of Baghdad, the military said Saturday.
The solders "were searching for a cache and clearing a building in Diyala province when an explosion occurred" on Friday, it said in a statement.
Three soldiers were killed and four were wounded in the blast, which occurred in one of the most violent Iraqi provinces at present.
The latest losses bring US military fatalities in Iraq since the March 2003 invasion to 3,112, according to an AFP count based on Pentagon figures.
