TRIPOLI - Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen and Libyan Economy, Trade & Investment Minister Ali Abdul Aziz al-Isawi signed on Thursday a protocol after the conclusion of Turkey-Libya Joint Economic Commission (JEC) meeting held, in Tripoli.
Sources said that parties will meet again in March to discuss the problem of due payments of Turkish contractors. Within the framework of the protocol, Libya will reset income, customs and social security debts of Turkish companies so far.
Under the protocol, parties decided to sign agreements to avoid double taxation and encourage mutual investments, as well as on fishery and air transportation.
The two parties also decided to establish a commission to solve problems in commercial area and ease bilateral trade.
Meanwhile, Turkish Export Promotion Center (IGEME) and its Libyan counterpart company signed a separate cooperation agreement.
