Slovakian President Schuster Says His Country Will Support Turkey's E.U. Accession

IZMIR - Slovakian President Rudolf Schuster said on Wednesday that his country would support Turkey's European Union (EU) accession.
Schuster and his wife Irena Schusterova, who are paying a visit to Turkey as the official guest of President Ahmet Necdet Sezer, proceeded from Ankara to Aegean Izmir province.
Slovakian President Schuster told reporters that he held very good meetings with President Sezer and Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc.
Schuster said that his meetings in Ankara showed further improvement of bilateral relations.
Noting that Turkey had extended great support to their NATO membership, Schuster said that they would also support Turkey's EU accession.
Schuster pointed out that efforts should be exerted to improve tourism between two countries.
Around 40 thousand Slovakian people visited Turkey this year, Schuster said.
Schuster noted that it was now time for visits and investments of Turkish and Slovakian businessmen.
Expressing belief that Slovakian businessmen would come to Turkey, Schuster said that Turkish businessmen would see the business volume in Slovakia and take significant steps for improvement of commercial relations.
Schuster later left for Selcuk town of Aegean Izmir province.
