President Sezer Arrives In Turkey

ANKARA - President Ahmet Necdet Sezer, who participated in funeral of former Azerbaijani President Haydar Aliyev in Baku, arrived in Turkey on Monday.
Sezer told reporters at Ankara's Esenboga Airport that he went to Baku to offer condolences of Turkish nation and he met with President Ilham Aliyev during the funeral.
Sezer said that Aliyev told him that his offering condolences was especially important for Azerbaijan and thanked him. Sezer added that he believed that strong relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan would further develop during the term of Aliyev.
Chief of General Staff Gen. Hilmi Ozkok also arrived in Turkey with Sezer.
Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc and other officials welcomed Sezer at the airport.
