ANKARA - The State Institute of Statistics released on Monday the foreign trade indices for August of 2003.
According to the data, export quantity index decreased by 5.3 percent, export price index dropped by 1.4 percent, import quantity index reduced by 4.5 while import price index increased by 1.6 percent when compared to the figures of the previous month.
Over to the same month of the previous year, export quantity index rose by 23.2 percent and import quantity index increased by 36.8 percent. Export price index climbed by 8.6 percent and import price index rose by 7.5 percent.
As for January-August period, export quantity index rose by 22.5 percent and import quantity index increased by 29.8 percent. Export price index climbed by 9.6 percent and import price index rose by 9.8 percent.
By the average of 12-month periods, export quantity index 19.7 percent, import quantity index 29.5 percent, export price index 7.9 percent, import price index 8.6 percent increased, respectively.
