ANKARA - State Minister Kursad Tuzmen said on Sunday that tenders which Turkish contractors have got abroad this year reached to 3 billion 179 million U.S. dollars.
Releasing a written statement, Tuzmen said that the sector of contracting services was very successful this year and noted that Turkish contractors started to become active again abroad.
Tuzmen said that the sector of contracting services could get tenders amounting to less than 1 billion U.S. dollars last year and stated that amount of tenders which Turkish contractors got abroad in 2003 exceeded 3 billion U.S. dollars.
Noting that Turkish contractors had undertaken 211 projects since the new year, he said that those projects were in Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Europe and some other countries.
Tuzmen said the government would extend every kind of support to contractors.
Tuzmen said in the statement that Turkish contractors which made the most business with Russia undertook 52 projects in this country.
