ANKARA - The Minimum Wage Fixing Commission will hold its fourth meeting on December 17, 2003 to set the new minimum wage which will be valid as of January 1, 2004.
The commission has held three meeting so far under the chairmanship of Ministry of Labor and Social Security Director General for Labor Cengiz Delibas.
The Minimum Wage Fixing Commission is comprised of five workers, five employers and five representatives of the government.
While the Confederation of Turkish Labor Unions (Turk-Is) represents workers at the commission, employers are represented by the Confederation of Employers' Unions (TISK).
The current net minimum wage is 225 million 999 thousand Turkish liras (TL) for workers who are above 18 years.
