Nesrin Nas Elected As New Leader Of A.N.A.P.

ANKARA - Nesrin Nas has been elected as new leader of the Motherland Party (ANAP).
ANAP's Eighth Regular Congress was held in Ankara on Saturday.
A total of 796 delegates cast their votes at the congress.
Nesrin Nas was elected by getting votes of 711 delegates.
The other candidate Halil Uluer received 62 votes.
Nas became the first female leader of the ANAP founded by former President Turgut Ozal on May 20, 1983.
She was born in Bunyan town of central province of Kayseri in 1958.
Nas graduated from the Marmara University Department of Finance.
After studying international economy in British capital London, Nas earned her doctorate decree at the Istanbul University.
She served as an academician at the Marmara University, economy advisor of the Dunya Newspaper and as regional representatives of the Euromoney and the Emerging Markets.
Nas was elected as provincial deputy chairperson of the ANAP in Istanbul in 1998.
She became a deputy of the ANAP in the general elections of 1999.
Nas is married with a child.
