SANLIURFA - Sanliurfa Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (SUSIAD) has made a business connection which is worth 100 million U.S. dollars with Iraqi and U.S. companies in Iraq.
SUSIAD Chairman Servan Simsek told the A.A correspondent on Saturday that businessmen in southeastern province of Sanliurfa wanted to have role in reconstruction of Iraq and stated that they went to Iraq twice.
Simsek said that they made agreements to make investment in oil and construction sectors and for exports of cotton and wheat during their meetings with representatives of the government and private sector in Iraq.
Noting that SUSIAD had 258 businessmen, he said that most of them were carrying on their economic relations with Iraq.
''We have improved our trade volume and signed a protocol during our visits to Iraq in August and November. We have made cooperation with Iraqi Somo company and U.S. companies. We will visit again this country with businessmen soon, and we will launch our investments in Iraq,'' Simsek stated.
Simsek said that they would bring 500 million U.S. dollars to Turkey by investing in Iraq, if stability and security was settled in this country, and stated that they demanded State Minister Kursad Tuzmen to visit Iraq again with businessmen.
