ANKARA - "Intergovernmental as well as economic, commercial and financial relations between Turkey and Italy are very good," said Turkish Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc who received Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi at Turkish Parliament on Monday.
"We will further develop our relations. We hold meetings and seminars, and open exhibitions both in Italy and Turkey. Relations between Turkish and Italian parliaments are very good," added Arinc.
Arinc noted that Prodi will make important inaugurations and hold meetings in Turkey.
On the other hand, Prodi said that the relations between the two countries recorded a great progress in the last three years.
Noting that Turkey-EU relations were confused a little in the end of last year, Prodi said that this confusion should teach that the relation between Turkey and EU is a long-term relation, and parties should not act on impulse.
