ISTANBUL - Turkish Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc offered his condolences to Armenian Patriarch Mesrob II and family of journalist Hrant Dink, who was killed in an armed attack on Friday.
During his visit to Armenian Patriarch Mesrob II, Arinc expressed his profound sorrow over killing of Dink.
"I will not be able to attend the funeral since I have to preside the special session at the parliament over the recent developments in Iraq and Kirkuk," he said.
"I hope that we will never experience such a heinous event again. Although his thoughts and opinions were different, Dink was a part of us. The real target of the attack was Turkey," he said.
Arinc also paid a visit to Dink`s family and offered his condolences.
