ANKARA - Turkish Eximbank will extend 9 billion USD of support to exporters in 2007, said Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen.
Holding a press conference in capital Ankara to make public the performance of Eximbank in 2006 and its targets for 2007, Tuzmen indicated that the Eximbank provided 7.8 billion USD of support for businessmen in 2006.
Tuzmen stated that the support extended to businessmen reached 29 billion USD in the last four years, and noted that small and medium scale enterprises used 4.6 billion USD of loan in the mentioned period.
Minister Tuzmen said that the year-end export target was set as 100 billion USD.
Pointing out that a draft law on the activities and structure of Turkish Eximbank has been prepared, Tuzmen said that the draft will make Eximbank an autonomous institution, and enable it to work more efficiently.
