ISTANBUL - "Interrogation of seven suspects is under way in connection with the killing of journalist Hrant Dink," Istanbul Police Chief Celalettin Cerrah said on Monday.
Cerrah told the A.A that the investigation as to whether the killing had any political motive or connection to an illegal organization had been continuing.
"It seems that the suspect committed the homicide after being affected from news reports. It was revealed that the suspect held talks with Yasin Hayal, who was involved in the bomb attack on McDonalds in the northern city of Trabzon two years ago, prior to the killing," he said.
52-year-old Dink, editor-in-chief of the Turkish-Armenian weekly Agos, was shot dead outside his newspaper`s office in Istanbul on Friday.
