ANKARA - Turkey will send 2 million USD to some African countries in order to support international humanitarian assistance initiatives carried out to fight against hunger in the African continent, sources said on Saturday.
Releasing a statement, Turkish MFA said the related amount of money will be transferred to bank account of the World Food Programming.
Within the scope of the initiative, aid will be send to Sudan, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Central African Republic and Rwanda.
The statement said efforts would continue to alleviate the sufferings of people who live in hunger and poverty in Africa.
"Social balances were disrupted in the region because of negative weather condition, hunger, drought, flood disasters, and civil war," the statement said.
