KONYA - Head of Religious Affairs Directorate General Ali Bardakoglu expressed Saturday deep sorrow over the killing of prominent Turkish Armenian journalist Hrant Dink.
"I consider this vicious act of murder a heinous bullet fired on our nation`s unity and integrity, and our centuries-old peaceful co-exitence of different cultures," he told a meeting in the central province of Konya.
"I am very sorry, deeply saddened and shaken by the incident," Bardakoglu said. "I would like to send by sincere condolences to Dink`s family, his friends and to the Armenian community."
Bardakoglu also stated he called Mesrob II, the Patriarch of the Armenians in Turkey, to express his condolences, and said that he would visit Mesrob II in the shortest possible time.
