ANKARA - A delegation from the U.S. Congress will come to Turkey within the scope of their visit to Europe and the Middle East to discuss international terrorism.
The delegation of Committee on Homeland Security headed by U.S. House of Representatives member Christopher Cox will have contacts in Istanbul and Ankara between 15-16 December.
The delegation which will stay for a short time in Ankara on December 16, is expected to have contacts in Interior Ministry.
The delegation will bring onto agenda the issues of ''international terrorism'' ''increasing cooperation in fight against terrorism and improving homeland security'' in its contacts and listen to the views of Ankara about the issue.
The countries which the delegation would visit were elected among countries which had critical importance for the U.S. in fight against international terrorism.
Meanwhile U.S. Department of State Special Coordinator to Cyprus Thomas Weston will come to Ankara after the elections in TRNC.
Weston who is expected to be in Ankara on December 18, will have contacts in Foreign Ministry.
Sources said that studies about his programme in Ankara continued, adding that Weston would visit Athens and Cyprus after Ankara.
The U.S. wants solution of Cyprus problem before May 1, 2004 and starting of negotiations to this end as soon as possible.
Weston can bring new proposals to the sides in that framework.
