ANKARA - Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer said Friday he strongly condemns the murder of journalist Hrant Dink, editor-in-chief of bilingual Agos weekly.
"This kind of inhuman acts will never achieve its purposes" Sezer said in a statement.
"Arrest of perpetrators of this attack, which deeply saddened our nation, is all our expectation," he added.
On the other hand, Turkish Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc condemned the murder and said "This felonious, insidious and wilful attack is directed to destroy Turkey's future and happiness."
A large number of governmental and non-governmental organizations in Turkey continue releasing condemnation messages on the assassination of Hrant Dink.
Meanwhile, Turkish Interior Minister Abdulkadir Aksu said that the assassination is an attack on democracy, peace and brotherhood. He condemned the attack and expressed sorrow over killing of Dink.
Aksu offered condolences to the family of Dink.
