Türkiye's Address-Based Census Surpasses 4 Million Residents Counted

Türkiye's ongoing address-based population census has recorded 4.1 million residents so far, with enumerators logging between 250,000 and 300,000 people each day, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).

Census work has begun in Istanbul's Pendik district, and TUIK expects to wrap up the Istanbul count by the end of January. In the capital, address-determination fieldwork is finished in the Çankaya and Keçiören districts, with full enumeration there set to begin within days.

Once temporary staff are brought on board at the end of January, daily registration is projected to climb to roughly 1 million people by February.

The central Anatolian province of Nevşehir finished its count first among all provinces. Nearby Niğde and Kırşehir, along with the northern provinces of Sinop and Karabük, are close to completing their tallies as well.
