DENIZLI - Ahmet Zeki Bulunc, the Ambassador of TRNC to Turkey said that on Thursday that the main target of Annan plan was to take Turkey out of Cyprus.
''There are rich oil beds in the sea between Turkey and TRNC. This is very important for the U.S. and EU,'' said Bulunc.
Bulunc who visited Denizli Governor Gazi Simsek the same day, told journalists that various games were played against Turkey and TRNC and Annan plan which came to agenda one year ago was a part of that plan.
Bulunc stated that this plan aimed to take Turkey out of the island, make Cyprus a ''Hellene island,'' and to make Enosis (union with Greece) come true.
''They want to make Greek Cypriots the owner of the island and to disturb 1960 agreement in line with the interests of Greece. This is an unacceptable development. They want to make Turkish society be a subject of Greek Cypriot society who is claimed to be the representative of the so-called Cyprus Republic,'' he said.
When asked if the U.S. and EU had games regarding the oil beds of Cyprus, Bulunc said that ''maybe there are no oil beds on the island, but there are rich oil beds in the sea between Turkey and TRNC. This is very important for the U.S. and the EU. Besides, Cyprus is important geographically. It is possible to take under control a broad geography from the Caucasus to the Middle East from Cyprus. The U.S. and the EU which wanted to protect the energy resources in the Middle East, want to control the island and to take Turkey out of the island.''
