ADANA - Adana Governor Kemal Onal said on Thursday that the region had an important potential in the aspect of international trade, adding that Adana was one of the five provinces which made export more than one billion dollars.
Onal received Indian Ambassador to Turkey Aloke Sen and he evaluated commercial, cultural and social relations between two countries.
Noting that they could make better jobs when economic relations between Turkey and India were further developed, Onal said that cooperation not only on economic field but also cultural and social fields would be increased.
Sen said that they continued activities to carry economic, social and cultural cooperation between two countries to higher levels. He added that total trade volume between Turkey and India was 427 million dollars last year and it reached to 750 million dollars in 2003. He said that the role of Adana was very important in commercial relations with Turkey.
Underlining that businessmen of Adana were open to new things and had the characteristics of an entrepreneur, Sen said that both countries had important economical potentials and this potential could be evaluated in joint projects.
