ANKARA - Italian parliamentary delegation met on Wednesday with members of Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Commission and Human Rights Commission.
The delegation which is paying an official visit to Turkey as the guest of Dulger firstly visited Anitkabir, the Mausoleum of Ataturk, the Founder of Turkish Republic.
The Italian delegation headed by Italian Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Commission Chairman Gustavo Selva, later met with Dulger and members of the commission.
Following this meeting, the Italian delegation visited Parliamentary Human Rights Commission.
Prior to their meeting, Elkatmis told reporters that they did not forget the support Italy extended to Turkey's European Union (EU) membership.
Elkatmis said that cultural and commercial relations between Turkey and Italy were gradually improving.
Improvement of those relations would serve world peace, Elkatmis noted.
Selva wished that bilateral relations would be further improved. Stating that people had hesitations in the word ''peace'' especially in the Middle East, Selva said that they were not losing their hope.
Selva said that six countries which formed EU were countries which had battled with each other and expressed belief that windows of peace would be opened in whole world.
They were pleased with Turkey's determination to become an EU full member, Selva added.
