Arınç highlighted that roughly 100 Turkish entrepreneurs hold direct investments in Sudan totaling around 100 million USD, and he described the country as an important African nation in need of stability to develop its economy.
A memorandum of understanding covering parliamentary cooperation was scheduled for signing during the visit. Arınç's agenda included addresses to the Sudanese National Assembly, meetings with senior Sudanese officials and ministers, a session with Vice President Ali Osman Taha, an audience with President Omar al-Bashir, and the inauguration of a new Turkish school building in Khartoum.
