TURIN - Just two days before the start of the 24th Winter Universiade in Turin, Italy, the countdown for the selection of the host country of the next winter universiade in 2011 has already begun.
The International University Sports Federation (FISU) will make a choice tomorrow between Turkey`s eastern city of Erzurum and Slovenia`s Maribor.
Turkish State Minister Mehmet Ali Sahin traveled to Turin to support Turkey`s candidacy for the 25th Winter Universiade.
Sahin hosted a dinner in honor of FISU President George Killian on Sunday to have him meet Turkish delegation.
Sahin and Turkish delegation in Turin told Killian about the advantages of Erzurum in its bid to host the universiade.
