ANKARA - The investments in Southeastern Anatolia Project (GAP) region will turn Turkey into a model investment region for European and other wider markets, said Hasan Eksi, president of Turkey`s NGOs Platform.
Turkish and Italian non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and businessmen will meet in Milan in order to discuss investment plans in GAP region. The participants will sign a framework business agreement as a result of the two-day meeting that will start on January 15th.
A statement released by Hasan Eksi said that the wide and untouched fields of GAP region will be used efficiently thanks to the cooperation of public and private sectors and NGOs.
"GAP Agriculture-Food Technopark Production Complex, which will collect, pack and market the products (of GAP), will turn Turkey into a model investment region for European and other wider markets. This development will turn GAP into a region of production, income and attraction," said Eksi.
European Unions` financial support for GAP Agriculture-Food Platform will be discussed in the meetings to be held in Milan.
After the signature of the framework business agreement, a company established by Turkish and Italian partners will conduct the investment plan.
