DENIZLI - Denizli exported textile and apparel to 110 countries, said head of Denizli Textile and Apparel Exporters` Union (DETKIB) Rasit Guntas.
Guntas told A.A that Denizli earned 1.5 billion USD from textile and apparel exports in 2006, which points to 6,57 percent increase in exports compared to previous year. Guntas added that this amount is still not sufficient.
"We are still the locomotive for exports. Some Far Eastern countries stood out in textile in previous years and it caused some distress. But China taught us what to do and how to do it. We became more capable in understanding what the customer wants," said Rasit Guntas.
The head of DETKIB also stated that they target at raising exports by 15 percent in 2007.
