ANKARA - Parliamentary investigation was launched against former State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Husamettin Ozkan and former State Minister Recep Onal on Tuesday.
While 409 deputies cast their votes in favor of the motion signed by Huseyin Besli, a deputy of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) and 63 other deputies, 17 deputies cast their votes against it.
The motion envisaged to launch a parliamentary investigation against Ozkan and Onal on the pretext that they caused Halk Bankasi to suffer a financial loss by failing to take necessary measures on time and to fulfill their duties.
According to parliamentary bylaw, a 15-member inquiry commission will be formed to carry out the investigation. The AK Party will have ten deputies and the Republican People's Party (CHP) will have five deputies in the commission.
The commission will carry out its works secretly and submit its report within two months.
The report will be debated at the Parliamentary General Assembly.
