ANKARA - State Minister Kursad Tuzmen said on Tuesday that the government's project and strategy was to increase trade volume with neighboring countries and stated that Turkey's exports to neighboring countries increased by about 50 percent.
Tuzmen left for Macedonia to attend a meeting of Macedonia-Turkey Business Council.
Prior to his departure, Tuzmen told reporters that they were going to Macedonia with a delegation comprised of 70 businessmen and noted that they would exert efforts there to improve commercial relations between the two countries.
Noting that trade volume between Turkey and Macedonia amounted to 115 million U.S. dollars in 2002, he said that this figure increased to 140-150 million U.S. dollars this year.
Tuzmen added that they would hold meetings with high level officials of Macedonia to further improve trade volume.
