Ankara Security Directorate Gives Briefing To Guards Of Embassies

ANKARA - Ankara Security Directorate gave on Monday a briefing on security measures to 83 guards of foreign embassies in Ankara.
Following the briefing, Ankara Police Chief Ercument Yilmaz told reporters that the meeting was held to inform embassies about security measures and stated that it was held to give the message that ''Turkey is a safe country.''
Yilmaz said that the briefing was given to personnel of embassies for Turkish tourism sector not to be affected by attacks in Istanbul.
Stating that they were working with embassies in coordination, he said that there were not any shortcomings in security.
Yilmaz said that they stressed in the meeting that Ankara was a safe city like other capitals in Europe and they wanted personnel of embassies not to interrupt their connection with Foreign Ministry.
He said that they did not require embassies to take measures and added that security was ensured with concrete barriers and policemen around embassies.
