ANTALYA - Presidential Chief Adviser Nezihi Cakar said on Monday that Turkey, which attributed great importance to reconstruction of a peaceful and secure Iraq, wanted elimination of all terrorist elements from Iraq.
Speaking in the 13th International Security and Cooperation Conference held in southern Antalya province, Cakar said that ''PKK/KADEK abolished itself on November 10 and announced that it would have a new formation'' and noted that ''this was a tactic away from convincibility.''
Cakar stated that Turkey, which wanted reconstruction of Iraq which lived in peace and security in line with United Nations (U.N.) resolutions, ''was a country of axis in NATO from now on not a wing country.''
Turkey attached utmost importance to NATO's relations with Russia and Ukraine and relations with Partnership for Peace (PfP) as a NATO member after the Cold War ended 13 years ago, Cakar said.
Cakar recalled that Turkey would host NATO summit next spring and underlined that European Security and Defense Policy (ESDP) could not be a structure separate from NATO.
Turkey approached development of ESDP positively, Cakar added.
Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc is also attending the conference.
