ATHENS - Energy and Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler attended the Southeast European Regional Energy Market (SEE-REM) meeting in Greek capital Athens on Monday as the term president.
Creation of a regional electricity and natural gas market in the Balkans and integration of this market with European union (EU) are main items of agenda of the meeting.
Besides Turkey, Albania, Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Italy, Kosovo, Macedonia, Serbia-Montenegro and Greece are participating in the meeting.
A memorandum of understanding on creation of energy market in the region will be signed in the meeting.
Guler will meet with Greek Minister of Development Apostolos-Athanasios Tsokhatzopoulos.
Energy and Natural Resources Minister Guler will return to Turkey on Tuesday.
