ANKARA - Minimum Wage Fixing Commission will convene on Tuesday to determine the minimum wage to be valid as of January 1, 2004.
Labor General Director Cengiz Delibas will chair the meeting to be held in Labor and Social Security Ministry.
In its meeting on November 20, 2003, reports of Treasury Undersecretariat and State Institute of Statistics (SIS) was distributed to be examined by sides.
The Commission is formed by a total of 15 members, including five representatives each from the government, Confederation of Turkish Employers' Unions and Confederation of Turkish Labor Unions (Turk-Is).
The Minimum Wage Fixing Commission is expected to fix the new minimum wage in December.
The current minimum wage is gross 306 million and net 225 million 999 thousand Turkish liras (TL) for the workers older than 18 years.
