ANKARA - Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will come together with ambassadors of member countries of the European Union (EU) over a luncheon in Ankara on Friday.
Sources said on Thursday that Erdogan would hold a meeting with EU member countries' ambassadors in Ankara before EU summit which would be held in Brussels on December 12 and 13.
Erdogan and ambassadors are expected to focus on implementations and reforms which were fulfilled in Turkey during its EU process in the meeting. Cyprus issue is also expected to be brought onto the agenda within the scope of European Commission's 2003 Progress Report in the meeting.
Sources said that Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul and bureaucrats would also participate in the meeting.
EU summit will be held in Brussels with participation of heads of state and government of member and candidate countries of the Union on December 12 and 13.
Turkey's target for getting a date to start negotiations with the EU at the end of 2004 will be explained once again in the summit.
