ANKARA - Turkish Central Bank announced on Thursday that its foreign currency reserves were reduced by 123 m USD to 59.2 billion USD in the week of December 15th to 22nd.
In its weekly bulletin, the Central Bank indicated that its total gross reserves (foreign currency plus gold) were up by 2 billion USD to 97.2 billion USD on December 8th. Of that, 36.2 billion USD was from privately owned companies, including commercial banks, while the Central Bank held the rest.
Meanwhile, Turkey repaid 816 m USD in foreign debt between December 1st and 27th.
