ANKARA - Turkish Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc signed a book of condolence, opened at the Turkmen Embassy in Ankara, for President Saparmurat Turkmenbasi, who passed away last week.
Before signing the book of condolence, Arinc expressed deep sorrow over Turkmenbasi`s demise, and said, "we consider agony of Turkmen people as our own agony."
Expressing belief that good relations between the two countries will be maintained, Arinc said, "we hope Turkmen people will elect their new president in a democratic way and without any problems."
In the book, Arinc wrote, "demise of Turkmenbasi, who worked for independence, development and stability of his country, is a big loss for the Turkic world."
