ANKARA - Iraq`s former PM Iyad Allavi said on Tuesday that regional and international assistance was needed to secure stability in Iraq.
Allavi, who is currently in Turkey for a regional tour, held a press conference accompanied by Iraqi MP Adnan Pacaci, in Swissotel Ankara.
Underlining the regional and international dimensions of the Iraqi problem, Allavi said it was impossible to settle all the problems, under prevailing conditions.
Allavi noted that they prepared a plan regarding the solution of the problems in Iraq, however he said he is unable to give any details for the moment. He indicated that they informed high-level executives of many countries --including the U.S.-- about their plan.
``All regional countries would benefit if this plan would be successful``, he contended.
Asked whether they had any demand, regarding sending military force, from the countries they visited, including Turkey, Allavi said they were just trying to get some support for their plan.
On the other hand, speaking at the same news conference, Pacaci said that they always appreciated Turkey`s clear position on Iraq`s territorial integrity.
