ANKARA - Finance Minister Kemal Unakitan said on Tuesday that they completed their responsibilities regarding sixth review by sending the arrangement on tax incentives and free zones to Prime Ministry.
Unakitan replied to questions of reporters after signing agreement on prevention of double taxation between Greece and Turkey with Greek National Economy and Finance Minister Nikos Khristodoulakis.
Upon a question regarding sixth review, Unakitan recalled that arrangements on tax incentives and free zones were sent to Prime Ministry.
Unakitan said that necessary activities related with his ministry were completed with the law on banks. Upon a question whether sixth review would be completed in 2004, Unakitan said that he wished it would be completed, but there could be delays due to intensive agenda of the Parliament.
Upon a question on initiatives about the finance of natural gas pipeline agreement signed between Turkey and Greece, Khristodoulakis said that they received finance from the European Union (EU) for the part of pipeline remaining in Greece. He added that their aim was to find finance for both sides and they attributed very much importance to this.
Noting that Greece would be a strategical transfer point for international procurement on that field, Khristodoulakis said that they were evaluating various cooperation opportunities on electricity besides natural gas.
