ANKARA - Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych of Ukraine, who is currently paying an official visit to Turkey, has said that all countries should act together in the fight against terrorism, and extended his condolences to families of victims of Istanbul bombings.
Speaking at the Turkey-Ukraine Strategic Co-operation meeting held by the Eurasian Strategic Studies Center on Tuesday, Prime Minister Yanukovych said, ''the Black Sea is not the only link between Turkey and Ukraine. Our countries have historical ties, common interests and a joint future. Therefore, we have to further develop our co-operation.''
Noting that necessary conditions for a co-operation between Turkey and Ukraine in high technology had emerged, Prime Minister Yanukovych said that they were planning to sign a co-operation agreement with Turkey in science and technology.
Referring to affinities between Turkey and Ukraine both straddling the continents of Europe and Asia, Prime Minister Yanukovych highlighted importance of efforts to consolidate historical and cultural ties between the two countries.
