ANKARA - The share of lowest income group was 6.05 percent while the highest income group was 44.4 percent from Turkey`s general income in 2005.
Turkish Board of Statistics (TUIK) announced on Monday the results of a research on "Income Distribution of 2005".
The share of lowest income group from Turkey`s general income, which was 6.04 percent in 2004, increased to 6.05 percent in 2005.
The highest income group which had a share of 46.17 percent in 2004 from Turkey`s general income dropped to 44.44 percent in 2005.
The share of families from lowest income group in cities dropped 0.01 points while in rural areas decreased 0.25 points in 2005.
The share of families from highest income group dropped to 43.52 percent in cities and increased to 44.22 percent in rural areas in 2005. These figures were 46.06 percent in cities and 43.88 percent in rural areas in 2004.
