ANKARA - There are 40,936 exporter and 49,903 importer companies in Turkey as of October, 2006, officials of Foreign Trade Undersecretariat told A.A on Monday.
Average export rate of companies is 1.65 million USD and import rate is 2.25 million USD, added the Undersecretariat.
According to figures of January-October 2006, Istanbul makes 54.7 percent of Turkey`s export and 57.8 percent of import.
Export rate of 7 cities of Turkey is under 1 million USD, while eastern city of Tunceli makes no export.
There are 22,291 exporter companies which export products worth of 37.8 billion USD in Istanbul.
Also there are 29,780 importer companies which import products worth of 64.8 billion USD in Istanbul.
Marmara region has 26,271 companies which make export worth of 50.1 billion USD. Aegean region has 5,212 companies making export worth of 6.85 billion USD, and Central Anatolian region has 4,256 companies making 4.31 billion USD of export. There are 2,714 companies in Mediterranean region which make export worth of 2.81 billion USD, and 1,112 companies in Southeastern Anatolia region which make 1.7 billion USD of export. Black Sea region has 782 companies which export products worth of 1.5 billion USD, while Eastern Anatolia region has 589 companies making export worth of 475.3 million USD.
