GAZIANTEP - "Trade volume between Turkey and the USA is only 10 billion USD. There can`t be such a strategic partnership," said Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen.
Holding a press conference after the inauguration ceremony of the Metro Cash&Carry Turkey branch, Tuzmen stressed that Turkey`s foreign trade volume has exceeded 220 billion and USA`s 2 trillion USD.
Tuzmen said they would increase the trade volume between the two countries to 15 billion USD in three years.
Tuzmen indicated they would apply the same methods they did with the neighbouring and surrounding states to the USA to achieve that goal.
Minister Tuzmen also noted they were trying to transform the Chinese threat to an opportunity with a totally different set of strategies.
Stressing that labor wages and input costs were on the rise in China, Tuzmen said as China got richer it was turning in to a promising market.
