ANKARA - Treasury held on Tuesday two auctions to sell 154-day bonds and 420-day discounted state notes.
In the 154-day bond auction, the composite interest rate became 27.79 percent while the composite interest in the 420-day discounted state notes was 28.91 percent.
The total bid had been 833.2 trillion Turkish liras (TL) in the 154-day bond auction while the Treasury sold 733.4 trillion TL nominal-valued bonds. Treasury's net sale in this auction was 661.2 trillion TL. The simple interest rate in this bond auction became 25.84 percent.
In the 420-day discounted state note auction, the total bid had been 3 quadrillion 444.5 trillion TL. The Treasury sold 2 quadrillion 339.6 trillion TL of nominal-valued bonds while its net sale became 1 quadrillion 745.3 trillion TL. The simple interest in this auction was 29.51 percent.
Both 154-day bonds and 420-day discounted state notes will be issued on December 3, 2003. 154-day bonds will be repaid on May 5, 2004 while the maturity of 420-day state notes is January 26, 2005.
