Turkish Airlines Partners with Lufthansa, Expanding Its Route Network to 231 Destinations

Turkish Airlines (THY) has signed a cooperation agreement with Germany's Lufthansa, marking an early step in THY's process of joining the Star Alliance, the world's largest airline partnership.

Under the deal, flights operated by both carriers between Türkiye and Germany will run as code-share services. New pricing will take effect with the Summer 2007 tariff schedule, beginning 25 March 2007.

The agreement expands THY's reachable destinations from 131 to 231, giving passengers more flight options and additional connecting opportunities through Frankfurt, Munich, Istanbul, and Ankara.

THY currently operates a fleet of 101 aircraft serving 131 destinations across Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Africa. Upon full membership in Star Alliance, the carrier expects access to 17,500 daily flights reaching 927 airports in 162 countries.
