ANKARA - Iran has reduced its daily amount of natural gas to Turkey to 7 million cubic metres.
Sources told the A.A on Thursday that Iran, which was obliged to provide Turkey with a daily amount of 27 million cubic metres under the bilateral agreement, had been reducing the daily amount since the beginning of December on the ground that the weather was getting cold under the "force majeure" in the agreement.
Last week, Iran reduced the daily amount to 18 million cubic metres. Later, the daily amount dropped to 7 million cubic metres.
Meanwhile, Turkish Ministry of Energy & Natural Resources said that they increased daily amount of Russian natural gas purchased through the Blue Stream from 27 million cubic metres to 34 million cubic metres to prevent any possible energy shortage.
