MAASTRICHT - Foreign Ministry Deputy Undersecretary Nabi Sensoy said on Monday that international cooperation was one of the basic conditions in fight against terrorism.
Sensoy who represents Turkey in the ongoing Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) foreign ministers meeting in Maastricht, the Netherlands delivered a speech.
Stating that Turkey was ready for cooperation with all countries against terrorism, Sensoy said that unless cooperation was made against terrorism, terrorist threats would continue and all countries would be affected by it.
Sensoy said that Turkey was pleased with OSCE's adopting a new threat strategy and stated that the country attributed great importance to the role of OSCE in settlement of international security and stability.
Stressing that Turkey would continue to extend support for solution of Georgia and Upper Karabakh issue, he said that it would extend financial support for elections which would be held in Georgia on January 4 to be held soundly.
Sensoy added that Turkey became a candidate for term presidency of OSCE in 2007.
The OSCE foreign ministers meeting will end on Tuesday.
Representatives of 55 member countries are participating in the meeting.
