AMSTERDAM - Turkish Minister of Culture & Tourism Atilla Koc, arrived in the Netherlands to attend the inauguration ceremony of the "Istanbul: City and Sultan" exhibition in Amsterdam.
Briefing on his visit at the airport, Koc said the exhibition was very important for cultural advertisement of Turkey. Koc noted despite their efforts they couldn`t get the results they expected in tourism sector from the Netherlands in 2006, and added he would get together with representatives from the sector during the visit.
The exhibition will feature pieces reflecting rich Ottoman cultural heritage and will be inaugurated at the historic ``Nieuwe Kerk`` church by Minister of Tourism and Culture Atilla Koc and Dutch Queen Beatrix. Approximately 300 pieces from Topkapi Palace and other major museums of Istanbul, depicting life in palaces of Istanbul, traditional crafts, literature and science of the era will be on display at the exhibition.
