BRUSSELS - European Union`s rotating president Finland may urge the EU Commission to open at least one more policy area or "chapter" in Turkey`s entry talks with the club before Germany assumes the post, sources close to the EU Presidency said on Tuesday.
Despite certain technical difficulties against such a move, sources stated that after a Dec. 14-15 summit, Finland may come up with a proposal to open at least one more chapter during its presidency.
EU foreign ministers decided on Monday to impose a partial suspension on Turkey`s membership talks over a ports dispute with Greek Cypriots.
