ANKARA - Greek Coast Guard Commander Admiral Elias Sionides paid a courtesy call to Turkish Coast Guard Commander Admiral Can Erenoglu in Ankara on Tuesday.
Before the meeting, Erenoglu said that Turkey and Greece consider that problems in the Aegean Sea could not be solved immediately, stating that however the two countries were eager to secure mutual understanding, respect, cooperation and friendship.
Erenoglu recalled that foreign ministers of the two countries had a meeting on June 10th, 2006, stating that they agreed that coast guard commands of the two countries would hold talks within the scope of confidence-building measures.
